Happy Graduation!

In my daughter’s eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter’s eyes

In my daughter’s eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and the
world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me
gives me strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter’s eyes

Martina McBride “In My Daughter’s Eyes”

Today, My daughter Hannah graduates from high school.  At the Baccalaureate Mass yesterday, this song was sung.  All of the mothers had tears in their eyes.  I am so privileged to be raising three beautiful daughters.  They are my heroes.

Tony and I are incredibly proud of the young woman Hannah has become- a caring. loving, talented, smart and funny person with a beautiful smile and laugh.   As I watched her spend hours and hours creating a capstone project, I was amazed at how artistically she was able to convey her view of the world.   Her love of people and the environment shines through and I know she will succeed in whatever she puts her mind to.

Way to go Hannah!  You continue to amaze me with your talents, inspire me with your passion for life, and gift me with your beautiful love!  I reluctantly hand you over to the world, to spread your joy and love with all those you meet!  Congratulations!

  1. The hardest thing to do it seems is to hand our amazing girls over to the world, yet trust that the learnings we have shared together will be more than enough to see them through as they begin their journeys. Those of us who’ve been given the gift of raising daughters have been truly blessed. They are such wonderful teachers!
