It has been awhile for a Friday post, so I thought it was time to share again.
I am trusting that the path I am following will unfold over time. I trust that speaking and facilitating on compassion leadership will become a path that allows me to make a difference in the lives of many people.
I am grateful for all the messages I am receiving that remind me I am on the right path. This one came at a particularly good time this week:
“It is not a question of where you ‘have what it takes’ but of whether you take the gifts you have- they are plenteous- and share them with the world.” Neale Donald Walsch.
And I am inspired by my friend Polly Letofsky. I recently caught up with Polly at our pilot leadership program. I am reminded of how incredible her accomplishment is. She is the only woman to walk around the world and she walked every day for five years. She chose to do it to raise money for breast cancer, because women who get cancer don’t have a choice. You can check out her funny, insightful book here.
How many of us complain about our lives, and yet we don’t choose to do the things that stretch us and make us grow? While this part of my journey may be uncomfortable, I am working to recognize that I already possess the gifts needed to be successful in the next stage of my life. We can’t birth something new without a few stretchmarks! They are proof that we have accomplished something!
Thank God it is Friday. And I am so grateful that life is good!
T. S. Eliot, as quoted in Polly’s book:
“Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.”
