Have you ever heard of the Mediterranean Diet? Well, you have now! Not only do I eat gluten free, but I love to try new recipes that help me to eat new vegetables. The Mediterranean Diet is about eating fresh fruits and vegetables and eating less refined carbohydrates, sweets, and even meats. One might look at this pyramid and think, “Yes, my whole grain bread is still on the list!” It is, but the focus is on eating whole grains as in oatmeal, buckwheat groats, quinoa, brown rice, etc.
